Saturday Snapshot: Dipping Sauce Bowls

I was setting the table for an Asian Veggie Pancake feast, and I realized how much I loved the contrast of the Fiestaware dipping sauce bowls on the black and white striped table cloth. (My mother would remind me that I should have ironed the tablecloth, but I'd rather spend my time cooking the food! Sorry, Mom.)

To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme, bloggers are asked to post a photo that they (or a friend or family member) have taken, then leave a direct link to your post on the Saturday Snapshot site. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. All she asks is that you don't post random photos that you find online. Thanks to Alyce at At Home With Books for hosting!!

  1. Those look great! I'm so curious about what foods you had to go with the dip.

I also take photos of my table when it's all gussied up. :) Of course that's because it's only usually that clean on holidays (and I don't iron my tablecloths either).

  2. Mmm those look delicious! Haha, yes, the ironing. The previous generations was so funny that way.

  8. very nice contrast with the bowls and the sauces! I wouldn't have noticed the tablecloth wrinkles if you hadn't said something. I don't iron anything. Especially tablecloths. Lol.

  13. Something about those stripes...the bowls all line up so nice. I don't iron table clothes either... I'm lucky if I get cotton pants and shirts ironed!

  14. I love the colors of it all, the table cloth, the bowles and the dipping sauces.

My parents once gave me an iron for christmas and my mum almost fell of the couch laughing at my face when I unwrapped it. Needless to say I hated ironing and still do :-)

  18. I never thought of Fiestaware, and they're great! When I lived in CA, I lived at Asian stores both for food and dishes, so use the little Tentsuyu dishes for sauce. I'll have to pull the Fiesta out the next time. Thanks for a lovely idea!

@NancyO -- I love those little Fiestaware bowls -- I use them for everything. Of course, if I had the real things, I would probably use those :-)

@Cozy -- Wow, what nice compliment!

@Karen -- My daughters just love any meal that includes "interactivity" -- rolling, dipping, sprinkling, you name it!
